The Milwaukee Bucks heaved a sigh of relief on Monday, with sources telling The Athletic’s Shams Charania that Giannis Antetokounmpo has avoided serious damage in his right wrist.
The “Greek Freak” traveled to New York City one day after winning the 2023 NBA All-Star Game to get some testing done on his injured wrist.
There were concerns about Antetokounmpo’s condition after he saw little action in Sunday’s exhibition.
He only played the first 20 seconds in Team Giannis’ 184-175 victory over Team LeBron.

Giannis injures wrist vs Bulls
The 28-year-old injured his wrist in the Bucks’ final game before the All-Star break. According to CBS Sports, he picked up the injury after contesting a layup by Coby White early in the second quarter of their game against the Chicago Bulls.
The block attempt did not go as planned, with Antetokounmpo having an awkward stumble around the basket stanchion. The two-time MVP put his right arm out to help with his fall, but his wrist took the brunt of the impact.
Antetokounmpo looked in serious pain after the fall. He returned to the locker room and was ruled out by the Bucks for the rest of the evening.
Giannis still traveled to Utah
Despite the injury, Giannis still took part in the All-Star Weekend festivities. He coached Team Dwyane in the All-Star Celebrity Game and started in the All-Star Game.

NBASources told ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski that Antetokounmpo suffered a sprained ligament in his right wrist and will undergo treatment for the injury.
The good news is that he can immediately return to the Bucks lineup once the pain in his wrist subsides.
