The 34-year-old said he first did the celebration in the first round of last year's playoff against the Denver Nuggets. He recalls that the celebration came out of nothing.

Since he was coming back from injury, the two-time MVP started from the bench. When the defending champions went 3-0 up, Curry's inner voice told him to put the Nuggets to sleep, per Boardroom.

He received a pass from Donte DiVincenzo, and moved past the screen before firing an incredible three-pointer to give the Warriors a 117-108 lead with 3:34 left in the fourth quarter.

The camera then panned to the crowd, which was going wild. It spotted two young fans doing the now-famous celebration.

Curry compared to Jordan

Sports Brief earlier reported on Curry being compared to Michael Jordan by Warriors coach Steve Kerr. The coach called Curry the modern Michael Jordan.

The reigning NBA champions were playing against the Washington Wizards at the Capital One Arena. While shooting a free throw, Curry was met with loud MVP chants from the crowd.

Kerr played with Jordan in the 1990s and has now coached Curry for nine seasons. Jordan used to receive MVP chants on the road during his heydays.
