  • Tottenham are reportedly considering Thomas Tuchel as their next manager
  • This comes at the back of the club's crushing 2-0 defeat in the North London derby on Sunday, January 15
  • Conte looks set to depart the club in the summer when his contract runs out
  • The Italian has always rubbed heads with the Tottenham hierarchy over their willingness to spend on quality players

Tottenham Hotspur could make a move for Thomas Tuchel as their next manager once Antonio Conte’s deal runs out in the summer.

The Italian is yet to sign a contract extension at the North London club as he bids his time to see whether the club will be in line with his vision for the future.

Tuchel was sacked by Chelsea in September 2022 and has been out of work since then.

This has not stopped the rumour mill, however, from spinning as the German tactician has consistently been linked with managerial jobs.

According to a report on Express Sport, an opening which might interest Tuchel could open up as early as during the summer.

Tottenham chairperson Daniel Levy has reportedly grown worried about the club’s recent run of form which has seen the team slip out of the top four.

The defeat to Arsenal in the league meant Spurs are now five points behind fourth placed Manchester United, who have a game in hand.

It is worth noting that Tottenham have the option to extend Conte’s contract by a further 12 months, but they are in no hurry to do so considering how things are going for the club on the pitch.

Meanwhile, Conte as a manager is famous for wanting to win trophies and will also not hesitate to walk away if he feels he cannot achieve that with the North London club.

Chelsea owner appears to aim dig at Mount

Elsewhere, Sports Brief reported on the controversial case of Chelsea owner Todd Boelhy seemingly trolling his own player Mason Mount.

Boelhy intersected with a tweet that had negative things to say about Mount, barely hours after Mykhailo Mudryk's purchase was finalised

Chelsea beat Arsenal to the signature of the Ukrainian and unveiled him officially to the home support on January 15, during half-time of the Premier League game against Crystal Palace.
