Super Falcons Put Up Sensational Performance to End Goalless Streak Against USA After Two Decades

Earlier, Sports Brief had reported how Super Falcons of Nigeria put up a fine performance against their counterparts in the United States, losing 2-1 in Washington.

It is more than 20 years since the Nigerian side scored against the United States Women’s National Team, which came in their 7-1 loss to the Americans in 1999.

However, the United States continued their winning dominance over Nigeria, extending their streak to seven.

Tosin Demehin’s own goal gave the Americans the lead in the 24th minute, but Nigeria fought back in the second half.

Moments after coming on, substitute Uchenna Kanu restored parity for Nigeria in the 50th minute before Rose Lavelle’s header shot the US back into the lead in the 66th minute.

The Super Falcons pushed for an equaliser but didn’t get it as they fell to a second defeat to the United States on their American tour.
