Victor Osimhen has explained that he is happy about Taiwo Awoniyi's move to Premier League side Nottingham Forest claiming that the former Liverpool player should prove himself.

Nottingham Forest on Saturday, 25 June, announced the signing of the Nigerian striker from Union Berlin where he impressed before moving to England.

Moving to Premier League is a dream come true for Taiwo Awoniyi and the Nigerian striker has stated that he was convinced with what the coach told him before he agreed.

According to the report on Soccernet, Victor Osimhen claimed that Taiwo Awoniyi will still go higher in football.

Victor Osimhen's reaction about Taiwo Awoniyi

“Awoniyi will move to Premier League, and he will smash it. He was in the top three best players in the Bundesliga last season. He was scoring regularly at Union Berlin.
“Moving to Nottingham Forest shows that he believes in himself. He will still go higher, and make bigger moves.
“I believe in Awoniyi completely, and I’m happy for him. And definitely, he would prove his doubters wrong.''

Osimhen sends stunning message to Nigerians after Super Eagles failure to get World Cup ticket

Earlier, Sports Brief had reported how Victor Osimhen tendered an apology to all Nigerians for the Super Eagles failure to qualify for the 2022 FIFA World Cup which will be played in Qatar losing the ticket to Ghana.

Many Nigerian football lovers are still battling to come to terms with the pains of Super Eagles not playing in the World Cup this year.

Coach Austin Eguavoen and his wards traveled to Kumasi and forced the Black Stars of Ghana to a goalless draw in the first leg of the World Cup qualifiers.

And in the return leg which was played at the MKO Abiola stadium in Abuja, the Super Eagles were forced to a 1-1 draw and Ghana qualified for the World Cup on away-goal record.

Victor Osimhen explained that it was sad for him and his other teammates not to get the World Cup ticket.
