Sadiq Umar rediscovered his goal-scoring prowess for Almeria as the Spanish second division team continued their push for promotion with a 3-0 win over Ponferradina.

The lanky Nigerian forward had failed to score in his two previous league games but found his scoring touch when he gave Almeria the lead in the 16th minute of the game.

According to Complete Sports, Sadiq Umar has now scored a total of 16 goals for Almeria to become the club’s top marksman in the league.

Goals from Arnau Piugmal in the 52nd minute and Inigo Eguaras’ 91st-minute strike ensured a comprehensive win for the home side.

Almeria now stands a good chance of ensuring promotion into the Spanish La Liga as they climb to 2nd position on the league table with 66 points and remain just one point behind leaders, Eibar.

Meanwhile, Sadiq Umar has stated that his ultimate goal this season is to help Almeria secure promotion into the Spanish La Liga Soccernet reports.

The Super Eagles forward have been one of the stand-out players for the Spanish second division outfit this season and have scored a total of 16 goals in the league.
