Nottingham Forest fans may have lamented their flurry of missed chances during the clash against Manchester City, but it wasn't an entirely gloomy defeat for those in attendance.

While many were kept on the edge of their seats by Chris Woods' string of glaring misses, others took a moment to commend the unwavering performance of defender, Ola Aina.

The Nigerian full-back, who stood out as one of the best players on the pitch, once again displayed his brilliance by covering vast amounts of ground and serving as a creative outlet for his team against the Premier League giants.

However, while many of the Super Eagles defender's efforts caught the eye during the clash, it was his lightning pace against Kyle Walker that sparked a buzz among fans.

Receiving the ball deep in his own half, as captured by the Premier League on social media, Nottingham Forest's number 43 effortlessly surged past the speedy defender, before skillfully evading a challenge from an advancing Manuel Akanji to create a scoring opportunity for his side.

Though Forest once again failed to convert the chance and lost two-nil, the impressive run by the 27-year-old continues to resonate with fans.

While some have praised the Nigerian's impeccable pace, others have gone as far as urging their club to pursue his signature in the summer transfer window.

Fans reaction to Aina's pace

@iam_Reedone, reacting to the posted video, remarked,

"He completely outplayed him that day, he just couldn't finish. He [Walker] should be thanking WOOD for missing those chances."

@Game_Boss360, staring in disbelief, commented,

"Did he just bypass City's midfield all alone? 😳😳"

@JamesLeonard85 added,

"Not many players can pull that off against Kyle Walker."

@Iamnoble6, showing pride in the defender, posted,

"He left him in the dust. Nigeria invented football."

@MCFC_AkinPros, urging Manchester City to sign the defender, wrote,

"@ManCity, we have our Walker replacement. He also handled Doku well."

Aina hails Ronaldo

Sports Brief in a previous report stated that Aina has hailed Cristiano Ronaldo as the toughest career opponent.

The Nigerian defender faced off against Ronaldo during his stint in the Italian Serie A and the Premier League.
