Heartbreak, Tears As Former Super Eagles Star Justice Christopher Is Buried in Plateau State

The remains of late former Super Eagles midfielder Justice Christopher have been buried amid tears by family, friends and his loved ones in his hometown in Plateau State.

Christopher represented Nigeria at youth and senior levels, playing for the Super Eagles between 2001 and 2002, during which he amassed a total of 11 caps.

The former Nasarawa United star was reported to have slumped in a hotel room in Jos, Plateau state, and was rushed to the hospital where he was confirmed dead on March 9.

Justice Christopher has been under the radar since he retired from football after leaving Nigerian Professional Football League side Nasarawa United in 2012.

NFF reacts

The NFF revealed Justice Christopher's death was a thing of deep sorrow and devastation to Nigerian football.

Justice Christopher featured for a handful of Nigerian clubs before having spells in Belgium, Sweden, Russia and Denmark.

“This is devastating. Justice Christopher was young and full of life. His death is a thing of deep sorrow here at the NFF and the entire Nigeria Football ambience.
“There was no report that he was ill. We are stunned to hear of his death. We pray that God will grant him eternal rest and comfort the family that he has left behind.”

Peter Ijeh reacts

Meanwhile, former Nigerian international Peter Ijeh has expressed grief following the death of former Super Eagles midfielder Justice Christopher who passed away.

Peter Ijeh who played with Justice Christopher in the national team and in the Swedish Premier League said:

“My heart bleeds as u pass on. Death is inevitable. It is a call we all must answer. It is what makes us all equal. Since no one knows the time, always endeavour to be on the right path even if that to stand alone.”

Stanford Women announce the death of goalkeeper Katie

Sports Brief earlier reported that Stanford women have confirmed that the team's goalkeeper, Katie Meyer has passed away at the age of 22.

Katie who doubles as the team's captain was said to have been found at her on-campus residence in the university says authorities.

The 22-year-old is a senior studying international relations and history at Stanford University and has been combining football perfectly with her studies.
