Former Nigerian international Peter Ijeh has expressed grief following the death of former Super Eagles midfielder Justice Christopher who passed away on Wednesday, March 9.
Nigerians woke up to the sad news that the former Nasarawa United star had slumped in a hotel room in Jos, Plateau state, and was rushed to the hospital where he was pronounced dead.
Justice Christopher had lived a quiet life since he retired from football after leaving Nigerian Professional Football League side Nasarawa United in 2012.
He was a member of the Super Eagles of Nigeria between 2001 and 2002 and made 11 appearances for the team.
Christopher was part of the Super Eagles squad to the 2002 FIFA World Cup where he played all three matches in the group stage before Nigeria crashed out of the tournament.
Reacting to the news, Peter Ijeh who played with Justice Christopher in the national team and in the Swedish Premier League said:
“My heart bleeds as u pass on. Death is inevitable. It is a call we all must answer. It is what makes us all equal. Since no one knows the time, always endeavour to be on the right path even if that to stand alone.
“Justice Christopher was nice hearted. We played together and against each other in the Swedish Premier League. My condolences to the family and the fortitude to bear the loss. Rest on Brother.”

Meanwhile, the NFF revealed Justice Christopher's death was a thing of deep sorrow and devastation to Nigerian football.

Football“This is devastating. Justice Christopher was young and full of life. His death is a thing of deep sorrow here at the NFF and the entire Nigeria Football ambience.
“There was no report that he was ill. We are stunned to hear of his death. We pray that God will grant him eternal rest and comfort the family that he has left behind.”
Ijeh condemns racist abuse against Osimhen
Sports Brief earlier reported that former Super Eagles forward Peter Ijeh condemned the recent racist comments against Victor Osimhen and his Napoli teammates after they defeated Fiorentina 2-1 in the Serie A earlier.
The loss by Fiorentina stunned the home fans as they resorted to chants, calling Napoli players all sorts of names as the insults were heard aimed at Kalidou Koulibaly, Victor Osimhen and Andre-Frank Zambo Anguissa.
Ijeh who also had stints in Sweden, Norway and Denmark threw his weight of support for the Super Eagles forward.
