Angel di Maria took time to console former Real Madrid teammate Luka Modric after Argentina defeat Croatia to progress to the final of the 2022 FIFA World Cup.

The Argentina winger was an unused substitute as Lionel Messi inspired Argentina to a 3-0 victory at the iconic Lusail stadium.

Modric, who was substituted in the second half, watched from the bench as the referee whistled for the end of the match.

Just as the whistle went for the end of the game, di Maria climbed out of the Argentina bench to console his friend and former teammate.
