Since then, coach Carlo Ancelotti has used Eden Hazard and Rodygro as make-shift forwards. Ancelotti has now provided a vague update on what’s happening with Benzema, Sportskeeda reported.

Speaking ahead of this weekend’s Madrid derby, Ancelotti was asked about whether Benzema could be expected to feature against Atletico.

"We will see. If he trains yes," was all he would say.

The two Madrid sides will face each other on Sunday, September 18. Real have yet to drop points this season and will be looking to continue that impressive form against their City rivals.

Diego Simeone's charges would love nothing more than to be the side that hands Real their first defeat of the season.

Benzema has been in scintillating form for Madrid this season. As noted by Transfermarkt, Benzema has played six games in all competitions for Los Blancos this season, scoring four goals in the process.

The French forward has been ever reliable for the side for the past few seasons, so much so that Madrid opted not to sign a backup striker during the recent transfer window.

Real Madrid are on a roll, and some fans think they may have found the reason why.

The La Liga champions beat Mallorca 4-1 over the weekend to continue their unbeaten run and stay on top of the table.

Some fans believe that Madrid’s choice of music may be the secret to their success. As reported by Kaya959, Madrid’s players were recently spotted listening to some proudly South African Amapiano tunes.
