Paris Saint Germain Defender Sergio Ramos Reveals Plans to Remain in Football After Retirement

Sergio Ramos is already planning for life outside football, with the Paris Saint-Germain defender revealing his plans for his retirement from the game.

The 36-year-old is widely regarded as one of the best defenders of his generation and Ramos recognises he is in the twilight phase of his professional career.

According to Football Espana, the former Real Madrid defender has now revealed he plans on staying involved in football even after he hangs up his boots in retirement.

“I’ll have to be more on top of my businesses, but ultimately what gives me adrenaline and fires me up is football. I’ve done it my whole life and it’s what I do best. I can see myself being a [club] president, a sporting director or coach.”

Ramos is out of contract at the Parc des Princes this summer and the 36-year-old is yet to agree on extending his current deal with PSG beyond the summer.

Meanwhile, Ramos has sent a message of calm to PSG supporters ahead of their crucial Champions League round of 16 tie against Bayern Munich, PSG Talk reports.

The 36-year-old defender has insisted the Ligue 1 champions are a united front, despite the club’s recent poor results which have landed them in a crisis mode.

PSG have suffered four defeats since the start of 2023 to spark rumours of unrest within the squad, but Ramos has debunked the claims of the team being unsettled.
