In a photo shared on social media, seen by Sports Brief, the 35-year-old World Cup Golden Ball winner was sighted with his wife as they embark on a private jet to Paris.

Messi might miss PSG's Coupe de France game against Chateauroux on Friday, January 6 but could be ready for action against Angers on Wednesday, January 11.

Messi pens heartwarming New Year's message

Lionel Messi has described 2022 as a year he will "never forget" after finally getting his hands on the most-desired trophy by any footballer, the World Cup.

The seven-time Ballon d'Or winner, who many now consider the greatest footballer to have graced the sport, brought 2022 to an end in spectacular fashion.

He took time to appreciate his "wonderful family" and "friends" in his New Year's message, per Mirror.

Messi to meet Ronaldo in friendly

Sports Brief earlier reported that Cristiano Ronaldo was unveiled as a new Al Nassr player on December 30, after weeks of intense rumours.

Ronaldo joined the Saudi Arabian club on a free transfer, following the termination of his contract by Manchester United in November.

Now, as PSG Talk reports, a potential clash between Ronaldo and Lionel Messi is in the offing as early as January 19.
