Kylian Mbappe has says he has not yet decided his future, after scoring the winner that helped PSG beat Real Madrid in the Champions League round of 16 first leg.

The Frenchman was the star of the show on Tuesday night and his superb performance was summed up with an important goal, deep in stoppage time.

He ran between two defenders to slot home a goal in the 94th minute as PSG secured a crucial 1-0 win at Parc des Princes.

The Frenchman is out of contract in the summer and has been heavily linked with a move to Real Madrid.

Speaking after the match, however, Mbappe said he was focused on his current team, at least for the moment.

"I play for one of the best teams in the world," he told Movistar TV.
"I'm going to give it my all for the remainder of the season. I haven't decided on my future."

On the question of whether the game against Real Madrid would influence his future, the Frenchman said:

“This game to influence my future? No — I’ve not decided, I give my best and then we will see what happens next season.”

Last summer, Real Madrid had two bids for Mbappe rejected as PSG were keen to keep the talented forward and perhaps offer him a new deal.

Mbappe’s stunning form this season

In terms of goals, the 23-year old’s strike against his potential next employers took his tally this season to 22 goals in all competitions.

Notably, this was the second time this week that he grabbed a late winner to save his side from a draw, as he scored in the 93rd minute against Rennes in the Ligue 1 last Friday.

The narrow 1-0 win over Real Madrid offers Mbappe and his PSG team another chance to qualify for the quarter-finals and perhaps go all the way to win the Champions League for the first time.

“Messi is finished”

Elsewhere, Sports Brief reported of how a section of fans on social media called out Lionel Messi for missing a penalty in the Real Madrid clash.

Messi had the chance to give his side the lead at the hour mark after Mbappe was fouled by Dani Carvajal, but his low penalty was saved by Thibaut Courtois.

The Argentine’s penalty miss also earned him an unwanted record as he has now missed the most penalties in Champions League history, along with Thierry Henry (5).
