  • Edinson Cavani is now on the verge of leaving Manchester United and would move to Spanish giants Barcelona
  • The Catalans are looking for a replacement for Argentine striker Sergio Aguero who was forced to retire from football
  • Barcelona recently crashed out of the Champions League and Xavi and his wards will want to shine in the Europa League

Edinson Cavani has reportedly been elected to accept offer from Spanish giants Barcelona when the January 2022 transfer window opens as Manchester United are now on the verge of losing him.

The Uruguayan will sign a short-term contract until the end of the term and replace Sergio Aguero who was forced to retire from soccer because of heart issues.

Cavani has struggled for regular first-team action at Manchester United this term so a move would suit all parties with the Red Devils happy to get the 34-year-old off the wage bill.

Father of Nigerian-born Manchester United striker hints about his son and Super Eagles move

Earlier, Legit.ng had reported how Alexander Oluwole Shoretire, the father of Manchester United forward, Shola Shoretire, has disclosed that he wants his son to feature for the Super Eagles of Nigeria.

The Manchester-based businessman hinted that the Three Lions of England are also monitoring his son’s situation as he is eligible to play for both countries.

The player’s father has reached out to the Nigeria Football Federation to consider his son, stating that Shola is giving a good account of himself at Manchester United.

New United interim manager Ralf Rangnick featured Shola in their Champions League final group game last Wednesday where he came on as a 68th minute substitute.

Legit.ng also reported how RB Leipzig midfielder Amadou Haidara admitted he was a huge fan of Man United while growing up.

Haidara made the admission amid growing speculation he could be headed to Old Trafford to link up with Ralf Rangnick.

Rangnick played a central role in the midfielder's transfer to the Bundesliga while he was Leipzig's boss.

And just days after taking over as Man United boss, it has been claimed the German tactician is keen on a reunion with Haidara, with the youngster top on his transfer wishlist.
