Man United attacker Cristiano Ronaldo suffered a horror injury on Saturday, September 24, while in action for Portugal during the Nations League.

Ronaldo's face was left covered in a pool of blood after a nasty collision with Czech Republic goalkeeper Tomas Vaclik.

According to the Daily Mail, the veteran striker went down in a heap after the mid-air collision in the 13th minute of the encounter.

The 37-year-old required medical treatment on the pitch but later returned with a bandage on his nose and played the entire 90 minutes of the match.

While he did not find the back of the net, Ronaldo's Portugal did manage to cart home the three points as they picked a huge 4-0 win.

Man United stars shine in Portugal's win over the Czech Republic

The match saw United players shine, with Diogo Dalot and Bruno Fernandes getting their names on the scoresheet.

Dalot bagged the opener in the 33rd minute of the match from Rafael Leao's cut-back before Fernandes doubled the advantage moments before the break.

Dalot made it 3-0 seven minutes after the restart with a superb left-footed finish, before Liverpool ace DiogoJota headed in with eight minutes remaining to put the game beyond the Czech Republic.

The win has Portugal sitting two points clear at the top of Group A2 and must avoid defeat when they play Spain on Tuesday, September 27, to reach next summer's finals.

Earlier, Sports Brief reported how Cristiano Ronaldo has plans to continue his international football career beyond the 2022 World Cup

This is despite the fact that Ronaldo had previously claimed that the 2022 World Cup would be his last ever international tournament.

He is currently on international duty with Portugal, and on Tuesday, September 20, he was presented with an award at the Quinas de Ouro ceremony.

In his speech, Ronaldo expressed his desire to still guide the national team to more glory after winning the Euro 2016.
