However, the five-time Ballon d'Or winner has seen his transfer options get limited, with potential suitors failing to submit bids.

Ronaldo's failure to sort his future has further seen him lose his place in the first team, having failed to make a Premier League start in two of United's most recent outings.

Erik ten Hag hints Ronaldo will continue at Man United

Erik ten Hag has now suggested that there is no chance Ronaldo will be leaving Man United this summer.

According to the Dutchman, he is keen to retain quality players within his ranks as the 2022/23 campaign takes shape.

"I just said we need quality players, you need more to cover all the games, to keep the consistency going, that is what we strive for," Ten Hag said as quoted by the Daily Mail.
"This squad we will go from September to the minimum January. It will be for this window the end but when there is great opportunity we always have to be alert at this top club," he added.

How Cristiano Ronaldo to Chelsea fell apart

Sports Brief had earlier reported how former Manchester United interim head coach Ralf Rangnick played a huge part in Cristiano Ronaldo not joining Chelsea.

Ronaldo was set to switch sides from Manchester to London, with the new Chelsea owner Todd Boehly apparently okaying the deal.

The striker was keen to leave Manchester United and join a club that offers Champions League football. His agent had offered him to Chelsea, among other clubs.
