Thomas Tuchel will be immediately available to take up another job when he leaves Bayern Munich in the summer after an agreement was reached to part ways.

Chelsea has yet to get it right since the Todd Boehly-led consortium decided to sack the German manager on September 7, 2022, in their first full season as club owners.

The owners' view on bringing him back is unknown, but the fans are split on whether the Champions League-winning manager should return, mostly because of signings.

Sports Brief looks at his top six signings at the club and how they fared.

Thomas Tuchel's signings at Chelsea

1. Romelu Lukaku

Chelsea paid £97.5 million to re-sign the Belgian forward from Inter Milan. Per Bild, Erling Haaland was the manager and the club's first choice. Lukaku has been a bad investment for the club. He fell out with Tuchel and has spent the last two seasons on loan at Inter and AS Roma.

2. Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang

After Lukaku left for Inter on loan, the club made a deadline-day signing of Aubameyang on Tuchel's recommendation. The Gabonese played only 59 minutes before the manager was sacked. He was shipped out at the end of the season after failing to impress under Graham Potter.

3. Wesley Fofana

The Blues paid £70mil for the France international from Leicester City in 2022. He has struggled with injuries since he arrived. Per Transfermarkt, he has missed 77 games due to injury and will play no part in this season as he's set to miss the remaining four games.

4. Raheem Sterling

Sterling left Manchester City and joined Chelsea for £47mil during the German tactician's time. He has not lived up to the reputation he built at City. He was expected to be a leader in the team but has fallen short. The club is trying to move him on this summer.

5. Kalidou Koulibaly

The experienced defender signed for the club in the summer of 2022 for £33mil. He struggled to settle in London, and when the Todd Boehly-led consortium took over, he was sold to the Saudi Pro League, where he currently plays for Al-Hilal.

6. Marc Cucurella

The club spent over £200mil in the summer of 2022 before sacking Tuchel two weeks after the window closed. Spanish full-back Cucurella was part of that window’s recruits for £63mil. He struggled in his first season but is gradually rediscovering himself in the final weeks of the current season.

Four clubs Tuchel could manage after Bayern

Sports Brief previously analysed four clubs Tuchel could manage after leaving Bayern Munich in the summer, with an agreement already reached over his exit.

Barcelona were one of the clubs interested in him, but this is no longer possible after Xavi Hernandez reversed his decision to quit the club and will stay next season.
