Sweden and AIK Solna forward John Guidetti has returned to Kenya, to recreate a popular photo of him and his ex-teammates from 20 years ago.

The Sweden-born striker spent part of his youth days in Nairobi, where his father was a teacher.

Guidetti started his playing career with Impala BrommaBoys academy, before his family moved back to Stockholm when he was ten.

A photo of Guidetti's days as a young boy in Kenya has often popped up, whenever discussion about player who could represent different countries comes up.

In the viral photo, Guidette and his teammates played bare-chested. 20 years later, the now 30-year-old returned to Nairobi to find his friends and relive the moment.

“20th anniversary with the people who played a big part in forming me into the person I am today. Thankful what they have given me and so thankful to se them again 20 years later. The future is bright. Nakupenda kakas," wrote Guidetti on social media.

The 30-year-old plies his trade in Sweden these days, after playing for the likes of Manchester City, Burnley, Celta Vigo and Deportivo Alvaes.

Guidette was a member of the Sweden team at the 2018 World Cup in Russia.

FIFA lifts ban on Kenya

Earlier, Sports Brief reported that FIFA officially lifted the suspension of the Football Kenya Federation (FKF), which has been in place since February this year.

In a letter addressed to FKF Secretary General Barry Otieno, FIFA Secretary General Fatma Samoura expressed satisfaction that the impasse between the government and the FKF is over.

The suspension has been lifted immediately, making Kenya eligible again to participate at international FIFA competitions.

Kenyan Premier League referee attacked

An ugly scene rocked a Kenya Premier League game on December 4, after a referee appeared to go down after a shove from a player.

The incident happened during a clash between Tusker FC and AFC Leopards at the Moi International Sports Centre Kasarani.

While the details of the incident remain scant, video footage shows the official on his knees before medical personnel rush to the pitch. He is then treated before continuing with the game.
