Manchester City has given their blessings for midfielder, Ilkay Gundogan to seek a new club ahead of the summer transfer window.

The 31-year-old German has seen his impact at the Etihad Stadium reduce significantly this season after starting 50% of City’s Premier League games from the bench.

Gundogan, whose current deal with the Premier League defending champions is set to expire in the summer of 2023, is seeking more playing opportunities and will most likely seek a move next season.

According to a report via 90MIN, Manchester City has hinted that extending Gundogan's contract is unlikely, leaving the former Borussia Dortmund midfielder free to join another team this summer.

Gundogan is on the verge of creating history before leaving Manchester City, as he is set to become the most successful German footballer in Premier League history if the Citizens are crowned league champions this season.

Meanwhile, Manchester City are set to earn massively if they can sustain their push to retain the Premier League trophy this season.

According to Manchester World, Pep Guardiola’s team will be taking home a massive £153.9 million if they are crowned Premier League champions.

The prize monies for the Premier League include television and broadcasting revenue at the close of each season, while the higher in the table a club finishes, the more money they receive.
