Man City boss Pep Guardiola has included Arsenal among five Premier League clubs that do not sit deep when playing the league leaders.

According to Guardiola, a number of teams in the top-flight park the bus when playing City except a select few.

The Spaniard tactician made the claim after City's 1-0 hard-fought win over Everton on Saturday, February 26.

The English champions were unable to break Everton's stubborn defence and had to rely on a magical moment from Phil Foden in the 82nd minute of the clash to bag the three points.

City's vital win at Goodison Park extended their lead over Jurgen Klopp’s side at the top of the table to six points.

EPL teams sit deep against Man City

Speaking after the Everton trip, Guardiola noted that Premier League teams defend deep when playing City, save for at least five teams.

The former Bayern boss included Arsenal and Liverpool among the teams that play attacking football.

Others, according to the 51-year-old are Leeds United, Aston Villa, and Brighton.

"I know we provoke them, but yeah, except Liverpool, Brighton, Arsenal, Villa and Leeds United, the rest, yeah. The rest sit back, but I’m not saying there is anything wrong with that," Guardiola said.
"Every manager can do what they want. One of the principles is to be patient," he added.

Liverpool, Man City showdown

Meanwhile, Guardiola's claim came just weeks before City's clash with Liverpool in an encounter that could be pivotal in the title race.

The reverse tie between the English champions ended in a 2-2 thrilling draw at Anfield.

In the meantime, the Citizens will have to focus on the upcoming Manchester derby set for Sunday, March 6, at Etihad Stadium.

Mourinho watches Roma from inside team bus

Earlier, Sports Brief reported Jose Mourinho had no choice but to watch his Roma side take on Spezia from inside the team bus.

Mourinho is currently serving a two-match stadium ban slapped on him during Roma's 2-2 draw with Verona.

The Portuguese earned the ban following his angry confrontation with match officials over decisions he felt were meant to punish his side.
