  • Dias urges teammates to be as sharp as ever if they are to win the quadruple
  • The Colombian was signed in January from Porto and has made an instant impact
  • Liverpool chasing trophies on three fronts, having already won the Carabao Cup

Liverpool attacker Luis Diaz has urged his teammates to leave nothing to chance in their quest for a historic quadruple. The Reds find themselves in a unique position of finishing the season by winning all the available trophies to them.

Jurgen Klopp charges are however alive to the task that they will have to put their best foot forward to achieve such a milestone. They have already bagged the Carabao cup after beating Chelsea on post-match penalties in February.

Liverpool are also seeking to pip Manchester City to the Premier League title. The defending champions are currently ahead by 1 point as the season enters the homestretch.

No margin for errort

Speaking to the official club website, the Colombian urged his teammates to treat every game like a final. Realistically, Liverpool has to win every game between now and the end of the season, and hope for a City slip up to win the quadruple.

We know that we’re pretty much obliged to win every game between now and the end of the season and we know there’s no margin of error for us. Each competition is different, each trophy is different and every game is different within those competitions, particularly in the Premier League. We’re treating every one like a final and we know what we’ve got to do.

Diaz was a January recruit from Porto and he wasted no time in hitting the ground running. He has quickly adapted to life in England and joined in seamlessly with an attack that already had the likes of Mohammed Salah, Sadio Mane and Diogo Jota.

His latest goal contribution came on Tuesday when he scored the opening goal of the 4-0 drubbing of their rivals Manchester United.

If and when the coaching staff need to call upon me, of course I’ll be ready and willing at all times, just like any other player that they decide to bring into their line-up. So, here’s hoping I can carry on in the same way, playing well and performing in the right manner so that things go well for the team. I’m here to help.

Liverpool host Merseyside rivals Everton this Sunday. Frank Lampard’s side are fighting to avoid relegation with Burnley’s mini-resurgence beneath them a major concern for the Toffees.

Champions League daunting task

Thereafter, Klopp will shift his attention to the Champions League where he faces an unpredictable Villareal side. The Yellow Submarines have already eliminated heavyweights like Bayern Munich and Juventus and Liverpool will be wary of the danger they possess.

Should they go past the Spanish opposition, either Manchester City or Real Madrid await in the final. The last form of another trophy will come in the FA Cup final next month where they will renew rivalries with Chelsea.

Klopp is yet to win the FA Cup in his tenure as Liverpool boss.

George Weah warns Salah and Mane against unnecessary pressure

At the same time, Liberia President George Weah has warned Liverpool's prolific duo against putting unnecessary pressure on themselves over the Ballon d'Or award. Weah is the only African to date to win football's most coveted individual gong.

The former footballer turned administrator believes that the two should focus more on their Liverpool game as reported by Sports Brief.
