  • Ex-Liverpool player Graeme Souness has accused Mohamed Salah of being the greediest player he has ever come across
  • Salah endured a difficult patch of firing blank but broke his goal scoring duck against Man United last night as Liverpool cranked up the pressure on Manchester City in the Premier League title chase
  • He now has 42 goal contributions across all competitions this season, topping both Premier League goal-scoring and assists charts

Retired footballer turned pundit Graeme Souness has described Mohamed Salah as the greediest player he has ever seen.

Souness, a former Liverpool defender and manager, made his remarks on the back of Liverpool's comprehensive win over rivals Manchester United with the Egyptian bagging a brace to end his goal-scoring drought.

Salah first scored when he was set up by an incredible assist from Sadio Mane in the first half before adding his second to wrap up the score to inflict a heavy 9 - 0 aggregate defeat on United.

His brace on Tuesday night Salah ensured he became the first player in Premier League history to score five times against United in a single campaign but Souness still stressed the ex-Chelsea winger was greedy.

“He is the greediest player I have ever seen,” said Souness as quoted by Kingfut. “He is a brilliant player but he has been the greediest player I have seen."
“He’s a truly great player, he had the incident with Sadio Mane a couple of years ago where he (Mane) fell out with Salah because he didn’t pass to him. But him not scoring for six games, a minor blip.”

Salah ends goal-scoring drought as Liverpool trounce hapless Man United

Liverpool stormed to the top of the Premier League thanks to a comprehensive performance against a desperate Manchester United on Tuesday, April 19.

Mohammed Salah scored twice as the Reds thrashed their opponents 4-0 at Anfield in a game where United was lucky not to have conceded any more.

Despite the derby nature of the fixture, there was an embarrassing gulf in quality in the two teams as Liverpool showed their title credentials from early on, finding the back of the net as early as the fifth minute through their new man Luis Diaz.

Ex-Man City defender ranks Mo Salah as best African player in Premier League history

Earlier, Sports Brief reported that former England international Micah Richards ranked Mohamed Salah as the best African player in the history of the Premier League.

Richards, who currently works as a pundit, chose Salah ahead of a list of high profile Africans to have graced the English top flight.

Since joining Liverpool in 2017, Mohamed Salah has been impregnable and arguably the best performer in the Premier League.
