Anderlecht winger Francis Amuzu has reportedly completed his nationality switch and will be available to play for the Black Stars of Ghana.

"The motivation behind this decision is that I deem it an obligation to play for my mother country since my parents are Ghanaian," part of the player's letter to FIFA read.

Amuzu represented Belgium at U19 and U21 levels and was handed a senior invite by former coach Roberto Martinez in 2021 for the matches against Wales and Netherlands in the UEFA Nations League.

However, the 23-year-old failed to play a minute of the two matches.

This season, Amuzu has scored three goals, provided three assists in 18 matches for Anderlecht.

Amuzu is on the radar of clubs from France with Marseille and Nice reportedly interested in his services.

Amuzu talks about Belgium

Earlier, Sports Brief reported that Belgium-based Ghanaian attacker Francis Amuzu has explained why he prefers Belgium to the West African nation.

Amuzu, born in Accra, Ghana, has been on the radar of the Ghana Football Association (GFA) as the football federation makes frantic efforts seeks to beef up the Black Stars squad ahead of the 2022 FIFA World Cup.

However, the 22-year-old stated in no uncertain terms of representing Belgium ahead of the country of his birth, inadvertently ending the GFA's aspirations of luring him to feature for the Black Stars.

Mensah on radar of English clubs

Leeds United and Wolverhampton Wanderers are reportedly interested in the services of Ghana defender Gideon Mensah.

The Auxerre left-back has been in the radar of both clubs following an impressive outing at the World Cup in Qatar.

Mensah sealed a permanent move to Auxerre in the summer after a successful loan spell with Girondins Bordeaux.
