Asamoah Gyan is taking baby steps to realize his coaching dreams with the legendary striker heading to Europe to acquire the UEFA B Coaching certificate.

Gyan, Ghana's record top scorer with 51 goals, had earlier stated he dreams of playing a major role on the Black Stars technical bench and seems to be taking giant steps in turning his dreams into reality.

According to GHANAsoccernet, the erstwhile Udinese, Sunderland and Al Ain forward will be heading to Wales to start the process of acquiring the UEFA B License.

"Yes, it’s true. Gyan will be taking the first steps to coaching this June. He’s keen to do somebody for the game,’’ his local manager Sammy Anim told GHANAsoccernet.
"There’s no doubt about his soccer IQ and love for the game so he wants to take it to the next level,’’
‘'He will love to be a coach in future and this is the first step to realising that dream.’’

The 36-year-old striker is yet to announce his retirement from football but has been inactive and unattached for almost a year following the expiration of his contract with Ghana Premier League outfit Legon Cities.

Gyan will be in class for a six-day programme for a Football Association of Wales’ Uefa B License certificate. It is a residential course for those who have experience in playing or coaching within the professional game.

Asamoah Gyan aims to coach the Black Stars in the future

Earlier, Sports Brief reported that Ghana's leading all-time top scorer Asamoah Gyan has not retired yet but aims to play an important role on the Black Stars technical bench.

The 36-year-old has expressed his interest in serving on the Black Stars technical team as strikers' coach.

He made this assertion in an interview with Accra-based television network Citi TV, underlining his readiness by revealing he has drawn plans of acquiring his coaching badges in the coming months.
