Elisha Owusu appears set to represent Ghana as the KAA Gent midfielder looks ready to get his first call-up to the Black Stars ahead of their World Cup Play-offs against Nigeria.

The 24-year-old was born in France and has represented the French national teams at youth level but is now ready to switch allegiance to Ghana.

According to a report via Complete Sports, Elisha Owusu has been speaking with officials of the Ghana Football Association and interim coach Otto Addo and is likely to be listed in the Black Stars team to face Nigeria.

Ghana is set to host the Super Eagles in the first leg of the final round of the FIFA World Cup play-offs on March 25 in Accra with the reverse fixture to be played in Abuja four days later.

The winner between both countries over two legs will pick one of Africa's five slots to the World Cup to be hosted by Qatar in November.

Meanwhile, interim coach of the Ghana national team, Otto Addo expects his provisional list for the crucial World Cup play-offs against Nigeria to be scrutinized by the Ghana Football Association.

According to a report on Daily Post, the committee led by GFA Vice President, Mark Addo, will review the list before an official announcement is made.

Otto Addo has a tough job on his hands as he plans to qualify the Black Stars to the FIFA World Cup after missing out on the last edition in Russia.

The Black Stars are also under immense pressure after a lackluster performance at the just concluded AFCON which saw Ghana eliminated in the group stages.

Ademola Lookman in Line for Super Eagles Debut Against Ghana

Earlier, Sports Brief reported Leicester City forward Ademola Lookman is set to play his first game for Nigeria against Ghana in the FIFA World Cup playoffs later this month.

The 24-year old was invited by head coach Augustine Eguavoen after his application to switch nationality from England to Nigeria was approved by the world’s football governing body, FIFA.

Lookman has now been included in Nigeria's 30-man roster when they renew their rivalry with the Black Stars in a two-legged clash on March 25 in Cape Coast before travelling to Abuja for the return leg four days later.
