Majeed Waris has finally broken his goal scoring drought after starting a comeback victory for Strasbourg in their Ligue 1 game against Montpellier.

The 30-year-old Ghana international had not scored since the start of the season, putting pressure on him before the Montpellier game, but ended his scoreless run with a magnificent goal.

In a video posted on Twitter, sighted by SportsBrief.com, players of Strasbourg run to surround the forward in show of affection and support for the petite attacker.

The goal was Waris' first of the season, and Strasbourg's leveler in the 3-1 win on Sunday, January 16, at the Stade de la Meinau.

Montpellier opened the scoring after just 11 minutes but with 13 minutes remaining, Waris equalized for Strasbourg before Adrien Thomasson and Kevin Gameiro completed the victory.

Teammate Jean Eudes-Ahoulou took to Twitter to write: "A collective victory, I am happy for you Majeed Waris."

"I see Majeed working every day. It's not easy for these players. He continues to invest himself on a daily basis, to work. He seized the opportunity today and was rewarded. Aholou also made a very good comeback," said Manager Julien Stephan.

"Thank you. I like when the players make us close the valve. As the other would say "as long as it lasts!"," wrote a fan Eric Wursteisen.
