Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen has stated emphatically that the goal he scored against Premier League giants Chelsea in the Champions League remains his most cherished.

Victor Osimhen headed in a fine goal to cancel out Tammy Abraham’s opener, but Willian netted a late winner to earn Frank Lampard’s Chelsea side a 2-1 win over Lille in the second round game of the 2018/19 Champions League.

The Nigerian striker went on to score 18 goals in 38 appearances for Lille which convinced those in charge of Italian giants Napoli to sign him for a club-record fee of €72million.

And while speaking exclusively with the NFF TV on YouTube, Victor Osimhen explained that his friends actually wanted him to score against Chelsea regardless the result.

“My most cherished goal is the one I scored against Chelsea.
“A lot of my friends who were Chelsea fans sent me messages before the game saying they did not care if Chelsea beat us Lille or not, they just wanted me to score.
“They really wanted me to actualize my dream, and that was one of the best moments in my career.”

Earlier, Sports Brief had reported how Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich have been linked with Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen as they continue to search for a possible replacement for Robert Lewandowski.

The German champions might lose the services of their No.9 Lewandowski who has indicated he is in search of football elsewhere.

And Osimhen who had a great season with Napoli scoring 18 goals during the last campaign for the Partenopei has been linked with a move to the German outfit.

Bayern are interested in the Napoli striker, but Sky Sports Germany transfer expert Marc Behrenbeck disclosed that the Nigerian international is not in Bayern’s plans.
