Ghanaian youth star Sam Rak-Sakyi has won the English U18 Premier League with Chelsea.

The young Blues defeated Fulham U18 2-1 at Craven Cottage on Wednesday evening.

Chelsea opened up the scoring inside five minutes through Leo Castledine before Luke Harris levelled the score. However, Jude Soonsup-Bell's late finish secured the trophy for the away side on the night.

English-born Ghana midfielder Rak-Sakyi was absent from the Chelsea squad but they played vital roles for the Chelsea youth team throughout the season.

Rak-Sakyi played 16 matches and provided one assist in all competitions for the Chelsea youth team.

The young Blues have won the title for the second time since it was introduced in 2012.

They first clinched the trophy in 2017 after they defeated Reading U18 3-0 at the Cobham Pak in the final.

Goals from Conor Gallagher, Harvey St Clair and Mason Mount gave the Chelsea U18 team all the three points that secured them the title victory.

Ghanaian youth trio of Richard Nartey, Tariq Lamptey and Callum Hudson-Odoi were part of the team.

Sports Brief earlier reported that Callum Hudson-Odoi is weighing up to switching international allegiance from England to Ghana after the Black Stars qualified for the 2022 World Cup, per The Times.

The Black Stars qualified for the Mundial after they edged West African rivals Nigeria in a nail-biting World Cup play-off staged over two legs.

Hudson-Odoi is reported to have watched the blockbuster clash on TV on Tuesday night as coach Otto Addo's men advanced to the World Cup on away goal rule.
