It wasn’t the first, nor last time that the duo were spotted having fun together. Alaba often describes Ribery as being a big brother.

Alaba arrived at Munich as a 16-year-old, and credits Ribery as being one of the players who helped him settle at the club, Bulinews reported.

"When I became part of the first team, he was one the first persons to come to me. He always looked after me, tried to push me, and gave me advice. He was always there for me. I'm very grateful and thankful for that to this day,” Alaba said.

Even though Alaba has moved on and Ribery has since retired, Bayern will always remember their special bond at the club.

Robben pays tribute to Ribery

Arjen Robben has paid a touching tribute to former Bayern Munich teammate Ribery, following the decision of the Frenchman to call time on his football career.

Ribery brought down the curtains on what has been an illustrious career on October 22, during Salernitana's home game against Spezia, Sports Brief reported.

The 2006 World Cup silver medalist was in tears as he was unveiled in front of a packed stadium, receiving applause from his teammates in an emotional farewell video posted online.
