When the encounter reached the 11th minute, Ronaldo received the ball, chopped away from Yaya Toure and unleashed a rocket towards goal from about 35 yards out.

Goalkeeper Boubacar Barry was in goal for Ivory Coast and he was lucky that the ball rattled off the post. It would have been the best goal of the tournament if it went it.

Ronaldo's debut for Al-Nassr

Earlier, Sports Brief had reported how Cristiano Ronaldo suffered a huge setback to his highly anticipated Al-Nassr debut.

The Portuguese superstar was officially unveiled as a player of the Saudi Arabian club on Tuesday at Mrsool Park in Riyadh and was billed to make his debut as soon as Thursday, January 5.

However, Ronaldo has been barred from making his debut against Al Tai FC after failing to have served a two-match FA ban.

Ronaldo was punished after hitting a phone out of the hand of an Everton fan.

He reportedly slapped the hand of Jacob Harding, a young Everton fan, as he stormed down the tunnel at Goodison Park last April. The boy's phone was damaged as a result.
