Bayern Munich’s performance against Manchester City left a lot to be desired and left coach Julian Nagelsmann with more questions than answers.

The Bundesliga champions took on England’s champions in a pre-season friendly at Lambeau Field, Wisconsin, in the USA.

City’s new signing, Erling Haaland took just 12 minutes to open his account, scoring what would prove to be the only goal of the game, ESPN reported.

In a match reduced to 40 minutes a half (due to inclement weather), City dominated proceedings and finished the game with 22 attempts; five of those were on target.

Bayern, on the other hand, had no shots on target for the entire game. The German side only managed three attempts in total during the 80 minutes.

Speaking after the game, Nagelsmann admitted that they had problems but that there were positives, Bavarian Football Works reported.

“We had problems and no control over the game in the first 10 minutes. We did a bit better after the break. Jamal Musiala was brilliant in the second half,” he said.

Nagelsmann also touched on how happy he was with Marcel Sabitzer’s performance.

Bayern will next take on RB Leipzig in the DFL-Supercup on July 30, in what is the official start to the German footballing season.
