Hector Bellerin will make an emotional return to Barcelona this season after agreeing to a deal to join the Blaugrana on transfer deadline day from Arsenal.

The 27-year-old, who is a product of Barcelona’s La Masia academy, returns to the Camp Nou 11 years after leaving for Arsenal in 2011.

According to the official website of Barcelona, Bellerin terminated his contract with the Gunners in order to secure his move back to the Catalan giants this summer.

The Spanish defender will sign a contract until 30 June 2023 and Barcelona has now set his buyout clause at €50 million.

Bellerin joins the likes of Robert Lewandowski, Raphinha, Frank Kessie, Jules Kounde, Andreas Christensen, and Marcos Alonso, who all joined the Catalans this summer.

Barcelona received a significant €100 million bid for Frenkie de Jong on transfer deadline day by an unnamed club that made an attempt to sign the Dutch midfielder, Barca Universal reports.

English Premier League clubs, Manchester United and Chelsea, had indicated an interest in signing the 25-year-old midfielder from Barcelona this summer.

The Red Devils had even reached an agreement over an €85 million deal with Barcelona for De Jong, but the Dutch midfielder refused to move to Old Trafford as he wished to succeed at Camp Nou.

Earlier, Sports Brief reported Barcelona has received a big boost in their pursuit of Hector Bellerin as the Catalans quest to sign a right-back this summer might just be coming to an end.

Bellerin, who left Barcelona as a 16-year-old to join Arsenal in 2011, has been linked with a return to Camp Nou as Xavi wants a replacement for Dani Alves and Sergino Dest.

Hector Bellerin is open to taking a pay cut in order to secure a return to his boyhood after being exiled from the Arsenal first-team by Mikel Arteta.
