  • Xavi Hernandez is hoping to make more signings despite adding four key players to his Barcelona squad this transfer window
  • Barcelona have signed Robert Lewandowski, Andreas Christensen, Raphinha and Jules Kounde so far during this summer transfer market
  • The Camp Nou outfit started the season with a disappointing goalless draw against Rayo Vallecano on Saturday

Barcelona manager Xavi Hernandez says called for reinforcement to his squad after opening the season with a disappointing goalless draw.

The Catalans were held 0-0 by Rayo Vallecano in their opening game of the La Liga season and had captain Sergio Busquets sent off late on.

Barca started new signings Andreas Christensen, Raphinha and Robert Lewandowski, who were only able to feature after being registered with the league late on Friday.

The report further states that Barcelona are aiming to bring in three more signings; Marcos Alonso, Bernardo Silva and a right-back, as Jules Kounde has made it clear that he does not want to play as a full-back.

It's been said that Xavi doesn't count on Sergino Dest for the right-back position. Sergi Roberto, meanwhile, is considered not good enough to be a starter.

Barcelona President Joan Laporta Promises Xavi That New Signings Will Be Registered Before Season Starts

Sports Brief had earlier reported that club President Joan Laporta promised Xavi that the players will be registered before the weekend’s fixture.

Barcelona have reportedly submitted all the required documents and are only awaiting the finalisation of the process. Laporta has therefore asked Xavi to prepare his team for the weekend, including the five new signings.

The club expects the process to be finalised tomorrow morning (Friday, August 12) or Saturday at the latest. Despite not officially registering their new players yet, Barcelona are already trying to sign more players.

Andreas Christensen and Franck Kessie could leave Barcelona before playing a competitive game for the team

Andreas Christensen and Franck Kessie could both leave Barcelona before they even play a competitive game for the Blaugrana.

The duo were both brought into the club on free transfers but have yet to be registered with LaLiga.

ESPN confirmed that if both players are not registered before Barcelona’s first game against Rayo Vallecano, they could leave as free agents.
