Mohammed Kudus has been named in the U23 team of the World Cup, following his outstanding display with the Black Stars in Qatar.

The 22-year-old Ajax star scored two goals and provided an assist in three matches, although the African nation failed to make it beyond the group stage.

Despite the early exit, the attacking midfielder made Whoscored.com's U23 team of the tournament.

Kudus is joined by England duo Bukayo Saka and Jude Bellingham, as well as Brazil's Vincius Jnr in the best eleven.

According to Whoscored.com, the Ghana international scored a rating of 7.53 to make the team.

"Mohammed Kudus makes the U23 team of the tournament for his excellent showings in the group stages for Ghana... Two goals, both scored in an entertaining 3-2 win over South Korea, helped bump the Ajax star's score up," wrote the sports website.

Kudus has rejoined his Ajax teammate for mid-season preparations ahead of the return of the Dutch Eredivisie.

Kudus dazzles in designer brands

Earlier, Sports Brief reported that Black Stars duo Kamaldeen Sulemana and Kudus showed off their taste in fashion as the World Cup was wrapping up.

The Ghana internationals returned to their various clubs in Europe, following the Black Stars early exit from the tournament in Qatar.

Both players excelled, with Kudus grabbing the headlines for his heroic performance against South Korea in the second Group H game.

Kudus honoured in Ghana

Black Stars midfielder Mohammed Kudus has been rewarded with a gold medal by the Western Regional Minister, Kwabena Okyere Darko-Mensah, following his exploits at the World Cup in Qatar.

Kudus was Ghana's brightest star at the tournament, scoring two goals and providing an assist in three games.

The Ajax star won Ghana a penalty in the decider against Uruguay, although it was unfortunately missed by captain Andre Ayew.
