Legendary Ghanaian midfielder, Sulley Aliu Muntari, has finally disclosed the reason for choosing Hearts of Oak on his return to the Ghana Premier League.

The 37-year-old signed a one-year deal with the Phobians after almost two years without a club as he seeks to give his career one last dance.

Speaking to the club's media, Muntari revealed Hearts is an appealing club and one of the best in Africa, making his decision to join them an easier one.

“Hearts of Oak is a good team, every young players and technical team and very ambitious,” Muntari said.
“And also my decision to join the Ghana Premier League is to help the young ones and guiding them for the right path.
“Not only, Hearts of Oak but the teams that will play against us. When Hearts of Oak excels with good football, it'll benefit the Premier League as well as the country.
“It is one of the reasons for the decision. I am happy to return to the Premier League. This is my home and it's time to make my people happy again."

Sulley Muntari could be making his Hearts of Oak debut on Sunday when the Phobians face local rivals Greats Olympics at Accra Sports Stadium.

The ex-AC Milan and Inter Milan player will be hoping to help the Phobians retain the Premier League title.

Former Ghana defender John Painstil praises Muntari's return to the GPL

Earlier, Sports Brief reported that John Painstil has lauded Ghana Premier League champions, Hearts of Oak, for signing former teammate Sulley Muntari in the transfer window.

Sulley Muntari joined the Phobians on a one-year deal after ending his two-year stay at home without a club.

In an interview with Joy Sports, the former Leicester City right-back stated Muntari's experience will be valuable to the young players.
