  • Chelsea could lose their central defender Antonio Rudiger to European counterparts next summer
  • The Champions League winner will run out of contract with the Blues at the end of the ongoing season
  • And all efforts to see him commit his future to the club beyond this campaign seem not to be yielding positive results

Antonio Rudiger could leave Chelsea when his contract expires at the end of the ongoing season after refusing to pen a new deal with the reigning European champions.

The German defender played a huge role in the Blues' Champions League triumph last season but all attempts to get him to commit his future to the club seems impossible.

However, with less than eight months left on his current deal, he is now wanted by some top European clubs including Juventus, Manchester City, Tottenham or Paris Saint-Germain.

Rudiger was linked with a move away from the London club about a year after failing to impress former boss Frank Lampard.

However, the arrival of Thomas Tuchel earlier this year revived his dwindling career and he played a key role in their victory in Europe.

SunSport quoting Gianluca DiMarzio claim it will be difficult for the German star to pen a new deal with the Blues. He told German site Wettfreunde that Rudiger 'will join' either Juventus, City, Spurs or PSG.

Meanwhile, in spite of his uncertain future, Rudiger remains a regular for Tuchel's side this season.

Antonio Rudiger blasts Ballon d'Or

Legit.ng earlier reported that Antonio Rudiger has expressed disappointment at not seeing Edouard Mendy nominated for the prestigious Ballon d'Or award.

Rudiger demanded an explanation why the Senegalese was snubbed from the 30-man shortlist for the prize following his masterclass against Brentford.

Mendy staged a man of the match performance against the newly-promoted side on Saturday, October 15, with his crucial saves helping Chelsea secure a vital 1-0 win.
