That AFCON 2023 was one of the best tournaments we have seen in football was not in question.

From the stylish team arrivals, to the world-class goals, to the underdogs doing the unthinkable, to the hosts riding on their luck, that tournament had everything!

In fact, there has been a heated debate on social media about whether Euro 2024 can live up to the expectations or provide something even better.

Look, it is not undeniable that Euro 2024 will have 'better' players than AFCON 2023. World-beaters like Cristiano Ronaldo, Kylian Mbappe, and Harry Kane will lead out their teams in the hunt for glory.

But before the real football action gets going at the Allianz Arena on June 14, Sports Brief compares how some of the different teams arrived at Euro 2024 and AFCON 2023.

How teams arrived for AFCON 2023

As a continent deeply embedded in tradition, African sides outdid themselves with their mode of dressing as they disembarked in Ivory Coast.

The teams, led by West African rivals Ghana and Nigeria, showed up in classy attire as they made their way from the airport to their training camps.

Then-defending champions, Senegal, led by the new husband in town, Sadio Mane, donned an all-white attire with small shades of the national colours.

The Super Eagles of Nigeria went with a white kaftan outfit with a slight touch of green, complete with hats and shoes of similar colours.

Ghana won the show, with the four-time champions wearing a traditional Kente outfit over white shorts and shirts. Every player also had a watch on to complete the look.

Guinea, five-time champions Cameroon, the Gambia and Namibia were also included in the best-dressed teams at AFCON 2023, as also reported by Sports Brief.

Team arrivals at Euro 2024

There is a stark difference between AFCON and Euros. While the Euro teams were still stylish and everything, most, if not all, of the teams, opted for a more official look of suits complete with ties.

Luka Modric's Croatia were among the first teams to arrive. The 2018 World Cup finalists wore match-black trousers and coats with white T-shirts. The Dutch team had something similar, but head coach Ronald Koeman went with a black T-shirt.

Favourites, France, wore navy blue tracksuits with white shoes, while England went all black. A couple of players, led by captain, Harry Kane, wore shorts.

Spain went with maroon shorts and white T-shirts while Italy also wore shorts. The defending champions are known for having their managerial staff wear matching suits on match day.

Austria, who will face the daunting task of playing against France and the Netherlands, came in an all-white outfit. The other member of that group, Poland, arrived in white shirts and brown khaki pants.

Denmark, Euro 2020 semi-finalists, wore brown trousers and coats with white T-shirts, while the Scots wore their national team tracksuits.

Scotland's arrival, however, stood out as John McGinn joined in with the welcoming party at the airport for some Bavarian dancing. They open their campaign in the worst possible way against the hosts on June 14.

Euro 2024 Groups previews

Sports Brief has also previously compiled previews for all the Euro 2024 groups ahead of Germany's opener against Scotland.

There will be much focus on Group B, which is the perceived 'Group of Death' featuring Italy, Spain, Croatia and Albania.

England's charge to claim a major title for the first time since 1966 begins in Group C against Denmark, Slovenia, and Serbia.
