Some very physically fit women compete in this intense gridiron football tournament while wearing lingerie that counts as uniform. We take a look at everything about the sport in this article.

The Extreme Football League (X League), formerly the Legends Football League, is a women's indoor American football league game. The league's initial name was the Lingerie Football League (LFL), which changed to the Legends Football League in 2013.

The Lingerie Bowl, a pay-per-view event that aired in opposition to the Super Bowl halftime show, inspired the league's concept. The playing style is full-contact and identical to other indoor football leagues. Uniforms comprise shoulder pads, elbow pads, knee pads, garters, bras, and ice hockey-style helmets with clear plastic visors in lieu of face masks.

Is the Extreme Football League still ongoing?

After years of restructuring, the league was reinstituted in 2022 on June 10, with the Chicago Blitz taking on the Kansas City Force. Four teams made it to the playoffs following a nine-week regular season featuring seven games, and the Blitz won the inaugural X Cup trophy on September 10 after defeating the Atlanta Empire.

When is the LFL football 2023 starting?

There are no sources about the 2023 season. However, the league announced at the conclusion of the 2022 season that it would make a concerted effort to increase the game's exposure in foreign markets. This would pertain to the live games broadcast strategy, bringing more compelling products and investment partners to grow the game.

Rules of LFL football

Each team has seven players on the pitch at any given time. The field is roughly the same size as other indoor leagues, measuring 50 yards between the end zones, 30 yards wide, and 8 yards deep in the end zones. Many fields are only slightly wider than 28 yards as sports are frequently played in rinks the size of the National Hockey League (85 feet wide), with the plexiglass removed, dasher boards padded, and ice surfaces covered with artificial turf.

There are no kickoffs or field goals, with the exception of the potential for an on-side kick if the score is close near the end of the game. Instead, halves and scores start at the own 15-yard line of each team.

Prior to the 2013 Pacific Cup, the practice of kicking off after each scoring drive was added, but it was discontinued soon after the opening match of the LFL Australia season. Every fourth down, a team must try to gain a first down to avoid turnover.

After a touchdown, a team can try to convert a one-point from the one-yard line or a two-point conversion from the three-yard line. Since 2015, teams have had the option to punt if they are inside their own 10-yard line; if the punt is not returned, the ball is put on the 15 or wherever it went out of bounds.

Four ten-minute quarters make up a game, and there is a 12-minute halftime (or a 30-minute halftime in championship games). In the event of a tie, there is an additional 8-minute sudden death period; the winner is the team that scores first. The game is declared a draw if the score is still tied and both teams' standings are tied.

Multiple 10-minute sudden-death overtime periods are played during postseason games until one team scores, which either results in the game being won and the team moving on to the next round or winning the championship. Each half or overtime period allows for two timeouts per team.

Do LFL players get paid? The Legends Football League, now known as the XFL or Extreme Football League, does not pay its players a fixed salary as it is a league-owned and operated organisation. Players used to receive a portion of the league's earnings, some of which came from LFL football ticket sales, but the payments were stopped in 2011.

With the league's rebranding in 2019, a new pay system was introduced, with players now receiving a base salary of $2,080 every two weeks, adding up to a $27,040 base total for the season. Players also receive an extra $1,685 per game for being on the active roster and $2,222 for winning a match.

The average football player's salary in the LFL is about $55,000 a year, with quarterbacks making more than other players. You can enjoy watching LFL Football on the LFL football app, DIRECTV, or other sources.

Former National Football League (NFL) player and Pro Football Hall of Fame inductee Mike Ditka owns the LFL Football League. Samantha Gordon was added to the ownership in May 2022.
