Who is Kaizer Chiefs' target Alexandre Santos?

Alexandre Crispim dos Santos was born on November 18, 1976, in Lisbon, Portugal. He began his managerial career with Alverca U19 (2002) before moving to Estoril Praia to work as a conditioning coach in 2005.

After leaving Estoril Praia, he worked as an assistant manager at CF Estrela for two years under Jose Peseiro before joining Vitoria Setubal set up as a conditioning coach in 2008.

He followed Peseiro to the Middle East when the Portuguese tactician was named Saudi Arabia's national team coach to work as his assistant. He did the same at Sporting Braga, Al-Wahda, Al Ahly, and FC Porto.

Santos worked briefly as an assistant manager under Rui Almeida at Sharjah FC before being named Real SC's first-team coach.

He had a short spell with Estoril U23 and Sporting CP U23 before returning to an assistant role at SM Caen.

The 47-year-old left France for Portugal in 2019 as he returned to Alverca to work with the first team.

The Glamour Boys target has been with Angolan giants Petro Luanda since 2021.

Honours

Santos won the Angolan League twice, alongside the domestic cup (Taca de Angola). He also won the Angola Super Cup once, making it five titles since joining Petro Luanda in 2021.

Santos' style of play

The former Alverca coach is known for playing a 4-3-3 attacking formation, according to a report by Transfer Markt.

When will Amakhosi name a new coach?

Sports Brief earlier reported that Kaizer Chiefs will appoint a new manager soon with an announcement set to take place soon following a disappointing Premier Soccer League season in 2023-24.

The Glamour Boys fired Molefi Ntseki early in the season and replaced him with Cavin Johnson, who served as temporary coach.

Despite adding nine players last summer, the Chiefs failed to finish in the top eight of the DStv Premiership, ruling them from the MTN 8 tournament next season.
