Manchester United ended their 2023-24 season on a high note, beating Manchester City in the final of the FA Cup.

For Marcus Rashford, the victory wouldn't be possible without the team's academy.

He posted a photo of United's academy graduates who starred in the win over City at Wembley Stadium.

Rashford pays tribute to United's academy stars

He included a message with the photo, writing, 'The academy that keeps producing'.

The pic showed the FA Cup trophy in front of United players Alejandro Garnacho, Scott McTominay, Amad Diallo, Kobbie Mainoo, and Jonny Evans.

Manchester United's academy is bursting with pride at the moment after Garnacho and Mainoo made history in the win against City, becoming the first pair of teenagers to score in the same FA Cup final.

Garnacho opened the scoring for United with an opportunistic strike in the 30th minute, taking advantage of a mix-up between Manchester City's Stefan Ortega and Josko Gvardiol.

Mainoo doubled United's lead in the 39th minute, finishing a swift counter-attack with a composed strike. Marcus Rashford's delightful cross-field pass to Garnacho opened things up for United, who had numbers on the break.

The Argentine star found Bruno Fernandes, who then issued a majestic no-look pass to Mainoo that dissected the City defence.

Mainoo applied the final touch inside the box to give United a 2-0 advantage, a lead that they would not relinquish, per BeinSports.

Youngest goal scorers in FA Cup final

Sports Brief recently reported on the youngest players to score in an FA Cup final, with Norman Whiteside holding the record.

He scored a goal in the replay of the 1983 FA Cup final versus Brighton and Hove Albion at the age of 18 years and 19 days.

Whiteside broke the record previously held by Queen Park Rangers' Robert M Christie, who scored in the 1884 FA Cup final.
