Ronaldo wants Fernandes at Al-Nassr

The Riyadh-based outfit's top star, Ronaldo, is said to have sanctioned the transfer, with the veteran forward understood to be keen to reunite with his fellow countryman.

Per Metro UK, the five-time Ballon d'Or winner has asked his club to test United’s resolve by bidding for the playmaker's services.

The development comes only days after it emerged that United chiefs held a meeting with Fernandes to discuss his future with the club.

The former Sporting Lisbon ace has two years left and the option for an extra 12 months on his current deal with the Red Devils.

As such, there is no immediate concern over his future with the Premier League giants.

The Portugal international has been out injured and missed his side's last two matches against Crystal Palace and Arsenal.
