A number of players who were in bad books with their fans and even management have gone far and beyond to prove wrong their doubters as they have done the most for their clubs.
Sports Brief takes a look at the top eight players who have proved a point this term
1. Kai Havertz (Arsenal)
Landing at Arsenal on a £65million fee, Kai Havertz was not a sure signing for the Gunners and even had a difficult time adapting at the club, with fans and pundits questioning why the club spent a huge figure for the midfielder.
The 24-year-old has gotten back on the game mostly in the second leg of the Premier League and even scored a brace in a 5-0 win over his former club Chelsea.
Having majorly contributed to Arsenal’s hopes of clinching the title, Mikel Arteta has given Havertz an upper hand over Gabriel Jesus and Eddie Nketiah.

Football2. Harry Maguire (Manchester United)
With what seemed like lacking the technical muscle to blend into Erik ten Hag’s style of play, Harry Maguire’s career almost went down the drain at some point.
In fact, the Englishman was ten Hag's fifth-choice centre-back.
Maguire came close to departing United for West Ham United but the deal fell through.
The 31-year-old has been lucky to up his game after he got several chances to play, largely benefitting from his teammates’ injuries.
3. Cole Palmer (Chelsea)
Many were up in arms when Chelsea splashed out £40million on Cole Palmer from Manchester City.
At the time, his doubters claimed the player lacked the requisite experience to play at a senior club level.
The 21-year-old forward has gone ahead to prove his doubters wrong, netting 29 goals in 39 appearances, not forgetting 13 assists for the Blues.
Despite his goal tally, including nine penalty conversions, his contribution to the Pochettino-led squad does not get any less impressive, as Chelsea would be in a worse situation without his services.

The Englishman later joined Bournemouth, where he has gone on to revive his career.
The 26-year-old has had a very impressive season coming up among the top goal-scorers in the Premier League with 18 goals.
5. Leon Bailey (Aston Villa)
Leon Bailey was signed by Aston Villa in 2021 and did the least as he suffered a lot of injuries that kept him out of the pitch.
Bailey has shown massive improvement this season, with 13 goals and 13 assists in all competitions he has been involved in.
