Senegal forward, Nicolas Jackson, has reacted to the news of Thiago Silva's departure from Chelsea at the end of the season.

The Brazilian legend spent four years at Stamford Bridge, helping the London club win their second UEFA Champions League title in 2021.

Silva will rejoin boyhood club Fluminense in Brazil this summer after deciding against extending his stay in England.

Jackson wished to have spent more years with the experienced centre-back but used the chance to thank him for being an inspiration for him and his teammates.

"I was watching Thiago since I was young and he’s an inspiration in football," the former Villareal forward told Sky Sports.
"He’s one of the best defenders in the world and to come and be in the same dressing room, on the same pitch, listening to him, giving me advice, giving us all advice in the dressing room, it was a pleasure," he added.

Jackson sees Silva venturing into coaching in the future due to his ability to inspire his colleagues.

"We all wish to be with him for more years in the dressing room, playing with us and enjoying together. We hoped we would win something, but it was not possible," he continued.
"We just wish him luck and his family and hope he does great in what he wants to do, in his career.
"I think he will be a coach, for sure, because he’s like an inspiration to the young people so I’m very happy to be with him and I wish him luck."

This season, Silva has made 27 Premier League appearances, scoring three goals for Chelsea, per Transfermarkt.

Silva pokes fun at Jackson after Neymar celebration

Earlier, Sports Brief reported that Thiago Silva made fun of Nicolas Jackson after the Chelsea forward mimicked Neymar Jr's celebration during the game against Everton.

The Blues returned to winning ways in emphatic style, thrashing the Merseyside outfit 6-0 at the Stamford Bridge.

Jackson was on target alongside Cole Palmer, who hit a quadruple to add to Alfie Gilchrist's strike.
