In the last few years, football fans have been discussing players who captivated crowds in England, not by their goals but by their skills.

Most of these players were from Africa. Many never played for the big boys, but whenever they took to the pitch, everyone was entertained. Here are the top 7 'streets won't forget' players from Africa who played in the Premier League, per 90min.

Africa's 'streets won't forget' players

7. Sofiane Boufal

The Moroccan, just like many other dribblers, can sometimes frustrate fans in the stadium. However, they are a joy to watch when their skills come off. Boufal's sensational solo goal for Southampton in 2018 against West Bromwich Albion won the Goal of the Season award.

Boufal was part of the Morocco squad that reached the semis of the 2022 World Cup. His skills were on full display against Spain.

6. Yannick Bolasie

The Congolese career was destroyed by injury. He was entertaining to watch. The winger's outrageous dribbling skills garnered applause from the Anfield faithful in 2015, a testament to his ability.

His best moments came during his four-year spell at Crystal Palace, per The Athletic. He had so many great moments at the club. His rainbow flick between two Tottenham Hotspur players remains a Premier League classic.

5. Tony Yeboah

Yeboah is remembered for his spectacular volley for Leeds against Liverpool in the 1995/96 season, per Sky Sports. But who can forget his thunderbolt against Wimbledon that same season? The Ghanaian was synonymous with the spectacular. Those goals gave him legendary status at Elland Road.

4. Yakubu

The Nigerian striker is remembered for his infamous miss at the 2010 World Cup, but The Yak was a feared striker during his time in the Premier League. He scored 95 goals in England's top flight for Portsmouth, Blackburn Rovers, Everton, and Middlesbrough.

3. Demba Ba & Papiss Cisse

These two Senegalese footballers lit up the Premier League in the 2011/12 season at Newcastle United. They scored a combined 29 goals between goals between them. Premier League teams had no answer for the duo. Cisse joined the Magpies in January 2012 and went on a historic run. He bagged 13 goals in 14 league games between January and the end of the season in May. Who can forget his brace against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge?

Ba scored 16 league goals that season to help Newcastle finish 5th.

2. Jay Jay Okocha

The Nigerian is considered the most naturally gifted footballer of his generation. After playing with Ronaldinho at PSG, the AFCON winner joined Bolton Wanderers and continued to perform his magic there. His swagger and dazzling feet made a mockery of Premier League defenders. He was a magician.

1. Adel Taarabt

The Moroccan was blessed with natural ability, and his nonchalance dazzled and maddened onlookers in equal measure. Fans fondly remember his time at Queens Park Rangers. He struggled to settle at QPR, but he became their most important player once he did. He scored incredible goals and pulled off eye-catching skills, leaving fans in awe.

Honourable mentions: Papa Bouba Diop, Wilfried Bony, Kevin-Prince Boateng
