Veteran Chelsea centre-back, Thiago Silva, has hinted he will quit the club at the end of the season.

The Brazilian defender dropped the bombshell after the Blues' heartbreaking FA Cup defeat at the hands of Manchester City.

Silva was part of the Chelsea squad that suffered a 1-0 slim defeat in the semi-final clash played at Wembley Stadium on Saturday evening.

Portuguese star Bernardo Silva scored the all-important goal of the match to send City to the final of the tournament.

The result all but ended Chelsea's hopes of ending the season with a trophy, having also lost the Carabao Cup when they played Liverpool in the final back in February.

Metro UK reports that Silva was reduced to tears after Chelsea's defeat in the weekend encounter before hinting at departing the Premier League club.

Silva addresses Chelsea future

Speaking in his post-match interview, the former Paris Saint-Germain star suggested that his time at Stamford Bridge was coming to an end.

"You are going to know in the coming days. I don’t want to say anything now after a defeat," Silva was quoted saying on his future with Chelsea.
"I’m sad about the result, but sooner or later the news will come out. I do have a decision made in my mind, but it’s not the moment to share it.
"It’s not an individual sport, but my four years here were very good," he added.

Silva, who joined Chelsea in the summer of 2020, will be out of contract at the end of the season.

Thiago Silva inconsolable after FA Cup heartbreak

Earlier, Sports Brief reported on Silva feeling the most impact of Chelsea's 1-0 loss to Manchester City in the FA Cup semi-final at Wembley as he was inconsolable at the final whistle.

Chelsea were at Wembley for the second time this season after losing the Carabao Cup to Liverpool thanks to Virgil van Dijk's 118th-minute glancing header.
