Who are the Champions League semi-finalists?

Real Madrid

Real Madrid are back in the Champions League semi-finals.

They reached the last 4 after beating Manchester City 4-3 in a penalty shootout on Wednesday night. The match went into penalties after the two-legged tie finished 4-4 on aggregate, per ESPN.

Antonio Rudiger silenced the home crowd, scoring the match-winning penalty for Real, who have now reached the Champions League semis a record 17 times.

If the pre-Champions League era is included, the Spanish giants have reached the European Cup semis a whopping 33 times.

Real Madrid hold the record for the most European Cup titles, having won the tournament 14 times in their storied history. They last won the Champions League crown in 2022.

Bayern Munich

Bayern's quest to win a major trophy in the 2023-24 season remains very much alive after they edged past Arsenal in their quarter-final clash on Wednesday night.

The German giants recorded a 1-0 win in the second leg thanks to a 63rd-minute goal from Joshua Kimmich to beat the Gunners 3-2 on aggregate.

It was a much-needed victory for Bayern, whose 11-year Bundesliga reign was ended by Bayer Leverkusen over the weekend.

Bayern have won six European Cups, with their last Champions League title coming in 2020 when they defeated PSG in the final.

They will next face Real Madrid in the semi-finals.

Paris Saint-Germain

Kylian Mbappe is on a mission to bring the Champions League trophy to Paris before he departs.

He scored twice in the second half to help PSG complete the comeback in the second leg of their quarter-final clash with Barcelona, per the BBC.

PSG trailed 4-2 on aggregate at one stage after Raphinha opened the scoring for Barcelona on Tuesday night. The French club got a huge break, though, in the 29th minute when Ronald Araujo was sent off.

They took full advantage, scoring four unanswered goals against 10-man Barcelona to record the 6-4 aggregate win.

PSG have never won the Champions League title. Their best finish in this tournament came in 2020 when they lost in the final to Bayern Munich.

Borussia Dortmund

The Champions League dream remains alive for Borussia Dortmund. The German club recorded a thrilling comeback win over Atletico Madrid, scoring two late goals in the second leg to produce a 5-4 aggregate win.

Marcel Sabitzer secured the victory for the hosts, scoring Dortmund's fourth goal of the night in the 74th minute.

They have won the Champions League title once in their history. That happened in 1997 when they beat Juventus in the final.

They will next face PSG in the semis.

Bellingham hails Real Madrid's winning mentality

Sports Brief recently reported on Jude Bellingham praising Real Madrid after their win over Manchester City.

The Englishman hailed his club's winning mentality after beating City in a penalty shootout.

Real managed to beat the defending champions despite Luka Modric missing their opening spot kick.
