Manchester City were the big winners on Sunday after Arsenal and Liverpool suffered gut-wrenching defeats to Aston Villa and Crystal Palace.

The reigning champs now hold a two-point lead over the Reds and Gunners with six matches left in their schedule. Their next Premier League match will be on April 25, as they will be competing in the FA Cup semi-finals this weekend.

Three of City's next four matches will come against teams outside the top 10. They will close their league campaign with an away game against Spurs on May 14 and a home match against West Ham United on May 19.

The good news for Pep Guardiola is they control their own destiny. If they win all of their remaining six games, the title will once again be headed to the Etihad Stadium.

Arsenal Win (1-0)

The Gunners' Premier League title hopes took a huge hit on Sunday when they lost 2-0 to Aston Villa at the Emirates Stadium.

They now trail City by two points with six games left in their schedule. The good news for Arsenal is that they can apply scoreboard pressure on City in the coming days.

They can go four points clear of the defending champs if they win their next two games against Wolves (April 20) and Chelsea (April 23).

Arsenal have a tougher run-in than City, with three of the Gunners' next five matches coming against teams inside the top 10.

Two of those outings will be on the road, with Mikel Arteta's men facing fifth-ranked Tottenham on April 27 and seventh-ranked Manchester United on May 12.

The Reds' Premier League title hopes took a damaging blow on Sunday when they lost 1-0 to Crystal Palace at Anfield.

They dropped to third in the league table with that defeat, trailing City by two points with six matches remaining in their schedule, per The Guardian.

Just like Arsenal, they can apply scoreboard pressure on Pep Guardiola's men in the coming week. If they win their next two games against Fulham (April 21) and Everton (April 24), they can go four points clear of Man City.

Liverpool have a tougher run-in than City, with two of the Reds' final three matches coming against teams inside the top 5.

They will face Spurs at home on May 5 before locking horns with Aston Villa on the road on May 13.

Ex-Arsenal players who won league titles

Sports Brief recently reported on the former Arsenal players who won league titles after leaving the club.

Granit Xhaka joined the list after helping Bayer Leverkusen win the Bundesliga title on Sunday.

The former Gunners captain scored in Leverkusen's 5-0 win against Werder.
