The mother of the Williams brothers, Madam Maria Williams, joined her sons and the Athletic Bilbao team during their on-water victory parade in the city of Bilbao.

Inaki and Nico Williams led the Basque club to their first Copa del Rey title in 40 years after beating Real Mallorca in the final last Sunday.

The Rojiblancos have been celebrating throughout the week and crowned all activities with a majestic sea parade, as dozens of boats and ships carried thousands of fans to meet their heroes.

The players sprinkled flowers on the water in remembrance of some former players of the club who are no more.

In a video shared on social media, the mother of the brothers is seen enjoying the moment while stating how proud she is of her sons and the Basque city.

Mrs Williams and her husband fled Ghana for a better life in Spain in the early nineties and eventually settled in Pamplona, where the brothers were born.

And like many young boys from Bilbao who loved football, they joined the city's club.

Nico Williams was named the Player of the Tournament after playing a huge role in Athletic Club's success, as reported by The Athletic.

Earlier, Sports Brief reported that Athletic Bilbao fans celebrated their first Copa del Rey win in forty years following their victory over Real Mallorca in the final last Saturday.

Ghanaian forward Inaki Williams played an instrumental role as the Basque club ended their Spanish Cup drought.

The 29-year-old is an icon in Bilbao, serving the club since signing his first professional contract in 2015.

The Williams brothers starred as the Basque club ended a forty-year wait to win the Spanish Cup after beating Real Mallorca on penalties.

Nico was adjudged the Player of the Tournament while his senior brother scored in the games against Barcelona and Atletico Madrid en route to the final.
