Fans of Athletic Bilbao continue to celebrate their first Copa del Rey win in forty years following their victory over Real Mallorca in the final last Saturday.

Ghanaian forward Inaki Williams played an instrumental role as the Basque club ended their Spanish Cup drought.

The 29-year-old is an icon in Bilbao, serving the club since signing his first professional contract in 2015.

Despite interest from other clubs in the past, the Bilbao-born star remains a loyal member of the team, adding the Copa del Rey to his two Spanish Super Cups.

In a video shared on social media, thousands of fans flooded the streets of the city to celebrate their stars, with the name of the Black Stars forward being chanted by the supporters.

Williams scored crucial goals during the competition including netting and providing an assist less than 24 hours after Ghana's AFCON exit. The Athletic Bilbao star produced a heroic display in the quarter-final victory over Barcelona.

He also scored in the semifinal victory over Atletico Madrid before lasting 91 minutes of the final against Mallorca as Bilbao won 4-2 on penalties, as reported by the BBC.

Williams brothers celebrate Cup win

Earlier, Sports Brief reported that Ghana forward, Inaki Williams broke down in tears as he celebrated with his younger brother, Nico, following Athletic Bilbao's Copa del Rey triumph.

Los Rojiblancos defeated Real Mallorca on penalties to win the Spanish Cup for the first time in 40 years.

The Williams brothers played an influential role in that success, with Nico providing an important assist in the final and earning the Player of the Tournament prize.

Sports Brief also reported that Ghanaian forward Inaki Williams shared a special moment with his younger brother, Nico Williams, following Athletic Bilbao's Copa del Rey triumph.

The Williams brothers starred as the Basque club ended a forty-year wait to win the Spanish Cup after beating Real Mallorca on penalties.

Nico was adjudged the Player of the Tournament while his senior brother scored in the games against Barcelona and Atletico Madrid en route to the final.
